Brandy Fruit

Bandied fruit starter in a large jar.

We are really bless here with fruit trees, berries and vines.  I made brandied fruit today.  Have you ever started a jar of brandy fruit.  You put 6 cups of mixed fruit from your orchard or use canned fruit.  Three cups or sugar and one pack of baking yeast in a large jar.  Stir it once or twice a day and leave it out on your counter to ferment.  I put a fine clothe over the top of the jar with a rubber band to keep gnats out of the fruit.  In two weeks it will be ready.  At this point you can add a cup of brandy to it if you want more alcohol, or use it as is to make cakes and desserts.  Or you can add another 2 cups fruit and 1 cup sugar and keep it fermenting.  Or just put it in the refrigerator for later use.  I love it over ice cream.

Homemade Coffee Liqueur –  This recipe for coffee liqueur is surprisingly simple. Combine sugar and coffee and alcohol , let is sit a month or two and bottle.
