Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

 

Cinnamon Rolls

 1 kilo all-purpose flour ( 8 cups )

1 package dry yeast or 1 cake compressed yeast

½ cup granulated sugar

2 cups water

2 eggs

1/3 cup oil

1 teaspoon salt

½ stick of melted butter

1 cup powder sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 cup seedless raisins

 Dissolve dry yeast in hot water or lukewarm water for compressed yeast. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast over water and let stand for a few minutes. Pour yeast and water into a large mixing bowl. Stir in oil, remaining sugar, eggs, salt and 2 cups of flour. Beat together with fork or electric mixer. Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Mix well. Cover and let rise until doubled. Divide the dough into two parts. Roll dough out to a rectangle about 14 x 10 inches on a lightly floured board. Using a pastry brush , brush with butter. Sprinkle half of the sugar and cinnamon on surface. Roll up, pressing dough together. Cut into 1 inch slices and lay on a cookie sheet, covered with baking paper. Brush the tops with butter. Repeat with the other half. Cover and let rise until doubled in size. Bake in preheated oven at 400F – 200C for 20 minutes.

 

Sugar Glaze

 1 cup powder sugar

2 tablespoon milk

 Mix thoroughly together. Spread on cinnamon rolls while still warm.
